FUNDING
Italian banks lend mortgages - also to foreigners- that are worth about fifty to seventy percent of the estimated value of the property. The higher the estimate, the higher the loan. We work with a number of registered valuers who not only use the rigid criteria of the Italian market but also take account of the market value of such property for foreigners. Italian banks also give loans for rebuilding or renovation that often cover the whole of the estimated costs. A binding estimate by a surveyor is then normally required. Our surveyors are well versed in this task.
We must nevertheless urge you to first ask a bank or building society in your own country for advice on mortgages.  But the Italian model, i.e. mortgages taken out in Italy that are denominated in foreign currency has also been successfully tried and tested.
