description
We sold this property to Teresia and Roland some years ago.  At the time, this former farmhouse, built over 200 years ago with beautiful architectural features and high-ceilinged rooms, had fallen into decay. Roland and Teresia, who had always been attracted to life in Italy, have transformed it into a beautiful guesthouse where they offer individual, unforgettable vacations for guests from all over the world.  And because Roland and Teresia are both ambitious and happily settled in the Marche, they intend to expand further – but into a different area of business:  olive oil production. Therefore, they have decided to sell their guesthouse business.
If the thought of a life in Italy with a ready-made, on-going business with many regular customers appeals to you, then "Ca'Maggio" could be the property for you.
The property consists of a large owner’s apartment, office, workrooms, garages, a holiday apartment and 10 perfectly furnished bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.  The property also boasts a club house/restaurant, a swimming pool, and sun terraces.  Roland and Teresia can supply further details, if you are interested.  Their web-site http://www.camaggio.com/  will also give you further information.
Situation and connections: the property lies in the hilly Marche countryside, close at the Umbrian border. Guests come to this area primarily because of its excellent cuisine and cultural attractions. Ca’Maggio lies a few kilometres from the truffle metropolis of Acqualagna, whose October/November truffle fair attracts visitors and gastronomes from all over the world. The architecturally and culturally interesting university town of Urbino (birthplace of the painter Raphael) is a 15-minute drive: likewise Gubbio, one of the most beautiful medieval cities. Day trips to Perugia with a cooling bathe in Lake Trasimeno, and excursions to Assisi are easy options.  Hiking, trekking or merely driving through the nearby Monte Catria range (over 5,500 ft) are pleasant activities, and the Adriatic coast with its beautiful beaches is only half an hour away. In addition, the peaceful, pretty municipal town of Cagli, to which the property belongs, is an attraction in its own right, with its mediaeval old town, markets, churches and palazzi.
A fast-moving dual carriageway – built along the former Roman Via Flaminia – provides an excellent connection to the coast. The airports of Ancona and Forli (both with daily flights by Ryan Air) can be reached in 50 minutes and Bologna in 100 minutes.  Rome is a two and a half hour drive.
If you seek fulfilment in giving other people unforgettable holidays, then "Ca'Maggio" is your goal!
