This attractive

from our programme it is n o t situated in Le Marche,
but in a neighbouring province, precisely in a little village in the
ABRUZZI MOUNTAINS distant 20 kilometres from the charming
city of l`Aquila.
From here it takes
only 15 minutes to get to the famous GRAN SASSO skiing resort.
L`Aquila settles
in 700 metres altitude and hence is Italy`s highest township at all. A
great attraction not only to Italians with its healthy climate and breathtaking
views, it was so important to the government that they built a very efficient
motorway connecting Aquila with Rome to the West and to the seaside town
of Pescara to the East.
Pescara airport
being served by RYAN AIR is only a 40 minutes` drive away, and it takes
not more than one hour to get to Rome Ciampino, another airport being served
by various economy airlines like easy-jet.
With this comfortable
transport link the property would be ideal as a holiday home for a small
family being interested in Italian culture and history.
The house dating
back to the early 18th century has only recently been lovingly and tastefully
restored by one of our friends who is a known Italian professor. He and
his family were particularly attracted by the unique location, the beautiful
plateau of PELTUINUM which was an important settlement in Roman times.
Extremely interesting are lots of excavations in the vicinity where important
findings were made.
With much regret
our friend is selling his property only a few months after finishing the
restoration works because he was offered a chair at Bologna Universtity
which is essential for his career. He will have to move to Bologna
