Due to its position built into a slope, the house has one and a half floors. On the ground floor - with exit to the garden - there is a guest apartment with bathroom and kitchen, a cantina (the original wine cellar), laundry and utility room and a workshop. From the main entrance an open staircase leads to the first floor with a practical landing from which the various rooms can be reached: a very beautiful large room with many windows presently used as a combined lounge/dining area, two bedrooms and two very special bathrooms in the style of the Fifties, one with light blue the other one with pink tiles. The main kitchen - also on the first floor - opens to a magnificent south-west terrace with portico. The original wooden beams and cotto floors have been restored and combined with plain white-washed walls create a lovely warm atmosphere as one would expect in refined countryhomes. This property stands for well-being and is suitable as a holiday-home for a small family, but also as a permanent residence for a couple interested in keeping animals near the house or inviting guests to stay with them. A spacious outbilding - at the moment used as storage room - can easily be converted into another guest apartment, an office or workshop. The house is equipped with everything needed for modern life: a well functioning gas heating, electricity, telephone and TV satellite to receive a large amount of international programmes. The beautifully arranged garden with lots of old trees, spacious lawns and local plants overlooking the rolling green hills of Le Marche and the high mountains of the Appenine is an oasis to recover from stress and to get new energy. Surroundings and where-abouts: The property is part of the medieval township of ARCEVIA close to the famous VERDICCHIO white wine areas of Montecarotto and Iesi, It takes half an hours drive by car to get to Senigallia, a lively interesting sea-side town with lovely sandy beaches, excellent restaurants and shopping facilities. Ancona airport with quite a choice of international flight connections daily (RYAN AIR/STANSTED) can be reached in 45 minutes. Sightseers will find a lot to do in this part of the world: the famous caves of Frassassi (one of the world`s most important stalactyte findings) are a must to be visited, the sulphur spa of San Vittorio Terme that dates back to Roman times, Fabriano with its famous paper factories and paper museum (production of bank-notes and bonds), Gualdo Tadino, renouned for lovely pottery and tiles, Gubbio one of Italy`s most beautiful medieval townships, Pergola where important bronze statues from Roman times were found, and Sassoferrato with its historical background where the Romans 295 a. C. won a decicive battle to gain control over central Italy, only to mention a few of interesting places. The high mountain of Monte Catria (1700 metres) is ideal for walking and riding. |
