 URBANIA

Description

This property is something very special not only from the viewpoint of its unique position: a magic peaceful spot with a garden all fenced in of 10000 square metres immersed into a fascinating landscape of rolling green hills and high mountains in the distance, only one mile away from the picturesque historical township of Urbania and  5 miles from famous Urbino, historically important Italian cities attracting students and artists from all over the world.
The house  is a piece of art itself designed by a German/Italian couple from the fashion world assisted by a renowned local architect skillfully combining "once upon a time" with modern lifestyle.
The original building was completely demolished and replaced in the same shape with a healthy modern structure using the old material that could be recovered, like beams, tiles and stones. The interior has been adapted to contemporary requirements of high standard and quality concentrating on spacious rooms with landings and light airy living space.
The entrance hall with a beautiful staircase leading to the upper floor opens into a huge living room with a very unusual vaulted ceiling and a modern fire-place that devides it from the spacious dining room.
The adjacent luxurious and well-equipped kitchen is connected to the dining area and has a French door to a second lounge/dining area on a roofed terrace facing an ample well-shaped swimming pool.
Ample also the souterrain  floor, the various storage, utility and bath rooms. The latter  tastefully arranged with high quality and unusual tiles, bath-tubs, shower-cabinets (Phillip Stark) in matching colours.
The first floor has wooden ceilings in cosy warm colours and is composed of a studio overlooking the downstairs living room, master bedroom and bathroom and a guest area with bathroom and two bedrooms, completely separate with an extra entrance.
The property is suitable as a residence for artists, designers, writers, composers, painters of a certain standing preferring to live in a quiet secluded spot in the vicinity of two ancient historic towns where noble families from "le Marche" and high-ranking members of the Vatican used to settle.
Romantic and historically important Urbania has been rebuilt on the walls of the antique Castel Durante by Pope Urban in 1284 and took its name in honour of its famous founder. The place became the biggest township in the upper Metauro valley and  centre of ceramics and Majolica art.
Urbania unites medieval architecture, beautiful landscape and highest quality of life. It is  hosting an important language school and many branches of the fashion industry. The area around Urbania has the lowest density of population in Italy but lots of history and relicts from the past combined with lively cheerful modern life.
Nearest airports: Ancona, Rimini (45 minutes) and Bologna (90 minutes) drive on good roads and motorways.
PRICE:   € 1.150.000,00
